Peig

This piece was an opportunity to explore how traditional woodturning techniques could be applied to a functional lighting solution. I used the lathe to shape the wall peg and concealment pin, aiming for clean lines and a refined profile. The peg supports a simple but effective cable-wrapping system, which creates the necessary tension to hold a light securely at the desired height. A turned wooden pin hides the wall screw, maintaining a seamless appearance, and the natural wood finish brings warmth to the design. It sits comfortably in a range of settings, from bedside reading, to workspace lighting and reflects my interest in combining hand skills with practical design outcomes.
